
Dr. Andy Loetscher's highest concern is your dental needs. He was born in Dubuque, Iowa and received his undergraduate training, as well as his dental degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1986. He then trained at the prestigious residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Ohio State University, which he completed in 1990. While attending the Ohio State University, Dr. Loetscher also obtained a Masters Degree in Bone Grafting.
Besides oral and maxillofacial surgery, his passions include woodworking, fitness and triathlon training, tennis and traveling. Dr. Loetscher and his wife Allison have a son named Justin, and two daughters Suzy and Penny.

A plaque awarded by the Iowa section to a senior student with an outstanding academic achievement and active non-academic participation during dental school.

Dr. Loetscher has extensive experience in Implant and Reconstructive Surgery, and Orthognathic Surgery to correct irregularities of the facial bones, and removal of wisdom teeth. He lectures locally and nationally on implant reconstructive and pre-prosthetic surgery. He has presented his research findings at several of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery meetings, as well as the International Association of Dental Research meetings. He has had scientific articles published in several journals, including Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology, The Journal of the American Dental Society, the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, these articles have ranged from anesthesia techniques, cleft repair, bone grafting techniques, jaw surgery and complex implant reconstructive techniques.
